Events to raise funds for local legion

The Forfar branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland has organised a number of events over the next few weeks to bolster its funds.

This Saturday (July 19) there will be a coffee morning in the Acadamy Street clubrooms, 10 a.m. to noon. Entry will cost £1.75, cake and candy as well as a raffle. On Saturday, August 2, there will be an evening with Ronnie from Fife who will perform a selection of music from the 1950s through to the 1990s, from 9 p.m. Tickets cost £5, including a filled roll, and there will also be a raffle during the evening.

An evening of clairvoyance with Roy Dodd will be the entertainment on Friday, August 8. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show will begin at 8.30 p.m. Tickets for both events are available from the legion on 01307 463204; Kenny’s Cafe, East High Street; Wilma Whyte on 07933 078153.
