Students at D&A College’s Montrose Learning Centre are hoping to use their enterprise skills to raise money for charity.
The group are holding an event at the Montrose Learning Centre on Wednesday, April 26, from 10am until noon, where they will be selling glitter glasses and sweetie cones.
Kayleigh, from the class, explained: “Within this unit we have to fundraise to gather money to produce products to sell at our event.
“The charity was chosen because a student, and friend, in our college class is registered blind.
“We plan to sell as much of our products as possible throughout our event, and we plan to have tea, coffee, juice and biscuits for visitors for a donation.”
To help meet the costs of producing the sweet cones and glitter glasses, Kayleigh and her classmates, Adelle Greig, Kay MacDonald, Caitlin Robertson, Reece Watt and Gail Watson, have been selling lucky square sheets, made up of 50 squares.
At £1 per square, £25 is giving as first prize with the remaining £25 used to buy supplies to make the glittered wine and shot glasses, which will be on sale on April 26.
During the event, the group will also be running a ‘guess the puppy’s name’ competition for a donated chocolate coloured Labrador teddy.
