Employment for young people

Young people from Tayside are being recruited to take part in a training programme aimed at giving young people access to a career in the care industry.

The Prince’s Trust Scotland and Balhousie Care Group are working in partnership to deliver the Get into Care programme.

Get into Care is a six-week training programme which will give young people the opportunity to train and develop skills relating to the industry as well as achieving a series of recognised accreditation.

In addition, the young people will also complete work experience placements within a Balhousie care home as well as working on improving their employability skills through CV writing workshop and interview skills.

Balhousie Care Group has guaranteed all 12 young people an interview for a care assistant’s position upon completion of the course.

Set to launch on October 22, The Prince’s Trust is looking for 12 young people, aged between 18 and 25, who are currently unemployed to apply for the programme.

This is the second Get into Care programme The Prince’s Trust and Balhousie Care Group have delivered, with 100 per cent of those who completed the previous programme moving into employment with the care group.
