The first members’ meeting of Kirriemuir Heritage Trust since its amalgamation with Friends of the Gateway to the Glens Museum will take place on Wednesday, September 7.
The venue is Kirriemuir Old Parish Church hall at 7 pm. The speaker for the evening will be Jack Blair who has written several books published by Tay Valley History Society.
He says that he has quite a number of forebears who came from Kirriemuir and roon’ aboot and he married a Kirrie girl.
His talk will be on the early lairds of Glasswell and Torbins based on his research for the books “Murray of Cullow” and “Scrymgeour of Glasswell”.
It is hoped a large turnout of members will support this first joint meeting and new and non-members will be made very welcome.
