A Kirriemuir couple have organised a fundraising dinner this weekend to highlight the medical condition to which they lost their daughter.

Claire Taylor died in 2012 from undiagnosed Type 1 diabetes and Kirrie Town Hall will be the venue for Saturday’s event to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Forum (JDRF).

The main speaker is Scottish mountaineer Jamie Andrew who lost his limbs as a result of frostbite following a mountaineering accident.

While the dinner is fully subscribed, Malcolm and Helen Taylor are inviting donations to the charity.

Helen said: “The JDRF funds research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes and provides information for those living with the condition. JDRF gives a voice to people with type 1 diabetes and campaign for increased focus on, and funding for, research to find the cure.”

Anyone wishing to make a donation can contact Mrs Taylor on 01575 573938.
