Police appeal after Angus incidents

Police in Angus are appealing for information following a number of thefts in the area.

Stolen from a shed, which lies beside the A926 Kirriemuir to Alyth road, some time between 8 am on Wednesday March 16 and 10 am on Sunday March 20 was an orange Husqvarna chainsaw, along with 300-kilos of scrap lead.

Officers are keen to trace two men who were in the area on an afternoon approximately three weeks ago (no date given). They drove a white Ford Transit van.

Anyone who saw these men or who has information that could assist enquiries should call 0300 111 2222.

Around 30 model lorries, which had been collected over a number of years and are worth about £2000-combined, were stolen during a break-in to a haulier’s business in Angus at the weekend.

The large compound, which is situated off the A933 at Little Kinnell, was broken into some time between 8.35 pm on Friday, March 18 and 7.50 am on Saturday, March 19. Seven Nokia mobile phones were also taken.

A window at a flat in Forfar’s Prior Road was broken by a stone or something similar early on Saturday morning (March 19).

A car was heard driving off at speed from outside the flat seconds after the incident, which happened at about 5am.

About 300 litres of kerosene was siphoned from a heating tank in the garden of a house on the outskirts of Farnell, near Brechin.

The £200-worth of fuel was taken some time between 6 pm on Saturday, March 5, and 1 pm on Sunday, March 13. Anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles or people in the area should call 0300 111 2222.

A copper water tank worth £250 was stolen from a vacant cottage on Dalhousie Estates at Brechin. The theft from the address, which lies alongside the B9134 Brechin to Forfar road, happened some time between 5 pm on Tuesday (March 15) and 2 pm on Saturday (March 19).
