In addition, following a series of thefts from vehicles in the Buckie and Findochty area during October and November, a local 18-year-old man has been charged.
He is expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court Tuesday.
Buckie Inspector Ewan Strachan said: “I would particularly like to thank locals for their assistance throughout our investigations.”
Detective Inspector Stuart McAdam added: “Once again I would urge the public to ensure their home security is a priority.
“Make sure the doors to your home and vehicles are locked at all times, even when you are at home, and keep any valuables out of sight.
“If you have security lights or alarms make use of them, and let Police know if you see any suspicious activity as soon as possible.
“Taking some simple precautions could save you a lot of time, trouble and expense in the long run.
“Anyone with concerns or information should contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
