Reports have been received of fireworks being let off in a reckless manner near Auchmithie.
Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are issuing a reminder of the dangers of fireworks after a report was received last night (Thursday) that fireworks were being deliberately set off next to moving vehicles travelling near Seaton Woods, Auchmithie, Arbroath.
The implications of this type of behaviour are very serious indeed, for anyone within passing vehicles or anyone nearby for that matter.
Those who were involved in this dangerous and reckless activity may have viewed it as a bit of harmless fun, but they should consider the potential consequences of their actions.
Fortunately noone has been injured, but the outcomes could have been far worse. Fireworks are not toys, they are explosives and the injuries they cause can be severe and life changing.
