The GUIDE Dogs Training School in Forfar is having a Christmas card sale.
On Saturday, November 3. shoppers will be able to pick up Christmas cards with a difference at the Training School.
The centre is hosting the sale of Guide Dogs festive Christmas cards with all of the proceeds going towards benefiting the charity which helps to boost the independence of both blind people and the partially sighted.
And as well as Christmas cards there will also be wrapping paper, calendars, diaries and other Guide Dogs merchandise on offer.
The hard working staff at the centre will be offering behind the scenes tours of the training school where there are approximately 200 dogs per year which receive their foundation training before moving on to instructors around the country for the dogs to be prepared specifically for the client’s needs.
The team at the centre is asking for a minimum donation of £1 from visitors. Visitors to the centre will be treated to hot drinks and refreshments which will definitely take away those winter blues.
“We’re encouraging as many people as possible to attend,” said Lisa Fairweather, one of the fund-raisers at the centre. “We’ll be there with a warm welcome, a hot cuppa, and all you’ll need for your loved ones this Christmas.”
The sale will run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Guide Dogs Training School, Dean Way, Orchardbank Business Park and everyone is welcome to go along get in to the Christmas spirit and join in the fun.
Guide Dogs have been expertly breeding and training guide dogs for more than 75 years and providing many thousands of dogs to blind and partially-sighted people of all ages and from all walks of life.
The charity also delivers confidence-building rehabilitation services to adults, young people and children which includes long cane mobility training and communication and living skills.
