Choral begins jubilee season

Angus Choral Society will begin its Golden Jubilee season on Friday, August 28 at 7.45pm on the East and Old Church hall, Forfar.

Exisiting members are reminded that the Annual General Meeting will start prior to the first rehearsal at 7pm with the aim of concluding business by 7.45pm. Subsequent Friday rehearsals will being at 7.30pm.

The choral’s Christmas concert will be held on Saturday, December 5 at 7.30pm in St John’s Church, Forfar. The programme will include a selection of carols for audience and choir. It will also feature a performance of Charpentier’s ‘Messe de Minuit’.

The choral’s anniversary concert will be held in Brechin Cathedral on Saturday, April 23, at 7.30pm, with works by Handel, Bach, Haydn, Mozart and Lauridsen. The progreamme will be completed with a performance of Rutter’s ‘Magnificat’ with well-known Scottish soprano Wilma McDougall.
