A well-known Forfar couple celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary at home last Tuesday with a steady stream of visitors.
Angus and Agnes (Nessie) Diplexcito first started dating when they were 16 years old with Angus asking Nessie to attend the prize giving of the Forfar Swifts Junior Football Club.
They were married on August 25, 1955 in St James Church in Forfar.
Angus worked as a plumber for Milne and Son and then Don Brothers, whilst Nessie worked in the wages department at Don Brothers.
The couple have three daughters - Helen, who lives in Forfar, Ruth in Liverpool and Rhona in Aberdeen. They have three grandchildren - Laura, Lynn and Callum and four great grandchildren.
Both from Forfar Nessie (81) and Angus (82) have played an active role in the local community. Angus is a member of Forfar Golf Club and used to bowl at the Boyle Park, and Nessie is treasurer of St Margaret’s Church’s Senior Circle and a member of the church’s Spectrum Choir. She was also a member of Forfar Opera.
