Angus Council’s Just Play team is hosting a Dads Matter event to celebrate the Year of the Dad.
The Year of the Dad is a year of celebration, insight and collaboration to promote the importance of fathers in child development and support men to be the Dads they want to be.
This family friendly event takes place on March 22 in the Reid Hall, Forfar from 1-5pm. It is open to parents, families and professionals and aims to celebrate the difference a great dad can make to their child’s wellbeing, confidence, health and educational attainment.
The event will feature guest speakers from Fathers Network and Mellow Dads, family Bookbug sessions and a number of organisations supporting Dads and father figures, including libraries, Angus Carers, Family Learning Network, Barnardos and Scottish Booktrust.
Find out more about research which shows the positive benefits of involving fathers, the benefits of valuing and supporting dads, recent legislation on new working patterns for men and how to promote equality and father friendly practice within organisations.
