Stagecoach Strathtay are celebrating the introduction of six brand new vehicles to their fleet.
The branded buses were launched at Glamis Castle on Monday, July 4 by representatives from Angus Council, Kirriemuir Community Council, local MSP’s and Stagecoach’s senior management team.
These vehicles mark an investment of over £1 million by Stagecoach and follows a £2.6m spend on similar vehicles in the Angus area just seven months ago.
Benefitting from ‘green’ Euro 5 engines, CCTV and wireless technology, the buses began service on Route 20 (Kirriemuir, Forfar and Dundee) on Monday.
The low floor entrances allow easy access for wheelchairs and buggies, and are also fitted with the latest low emission engines, making bus travel even better for the environment.
Charlie Mullen, managing director, Stagecoach East Scotland, said: “We are delighted to launch the new 20 fleet, demonstrating our commitment to delivering high-quality services in the Strathay area.
“With improved access and the latest low-emission engines, making the switch to public transport and enjoying greener, smarter travel has never been easier.”
