A PROJECT to support some of the county’s youngest citizens has been launched in Angus.
Thanks to funding from the Cashback for Communities initiative – which uses funds recovered from the proceeds of crime – the Just Play project will receive a cash boost of £350,000.
Just Play is a three-year pilot partnership lead jointly by Angus Council and Tayside Police.
The project has a major emphasis on play activity for up to three-year-olds and targets families and young children who live in deprived or vulnerable situations.
Noting the establishment of the project, Angus Council’s education committee heard that introducing purposeful play activities in the early years, reduces the likelihood of young people becoming involved in antisocial behaving and offending later in life.
