An award-winning Forfar jewellery designer has spoken of her shock after being voted the best in Scotland at the Scottish Wedding Awards.
Zoe Hunter (nee Duthie), of Z D Jewellery Design, picked up the top award for ‘Jeweller of the Year’ at a glittering awards ceremony in Glasgow.
She said: “It was such a massive shock to win, I didn’t even encourage my family to come to the awards with me as I didn’t think there was a chance of me winning.
“I wish they had been there now to celebrate with me.
“I am so excited for what this might mean for the future of my business. It will certainly raise my profile locally and hopefully further afield too.
“I think winning the award is great in terms of gaining recognition for my work, but also for giving customers confidence in selecting me to create their custom-made designs. I’m looking forward to all that might come from this.”
The Scottish Wedding Awards are a celebration of local businesses. Winners are a reflection of quality and customer service as they are chosen by members of the general public. The awards were split into local regions to ensure businesses from across Scotland are recognised for their hard work.
Irfan Younis, CEO of organizers Creative Oceanic, said: “We are honoured and delighted to have such great finalists and winners representing the Scottish wedding industry and enhancing its reputation nationally and internationally. This was the fifth annual Scottish Wedding Awards. They are a true reflection of the talent in Scotland and we want to make sure that their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.”
In addition, the awards supported the Well Foundation and raised over £1000.
