Glamis Castle received a prestigious Silver Award of Excellence from CIE Tours International at last week’s VisitScotland Expo.
Senior Vice President of the American division, Dennis Savage and Karin Gidlund, from CIE Tours International presented the award to David Broadfoot, Director and Libby Reynolds, Marketing Manager of Glamis Castle.
The Glamis Visitor Experience was voted favourite attraction by an impressive 96% of CIE Tours customers.
Libby said: “The award is a fantastic accolade for all of the staff at Glamis.
“The award is made all the more special as it has been voted for by the visitors themselves. 96% is a fantastic achievement of customer satisfaction.
“We look forward to welcoming more CIE groups this year and we are certain that the Glamis team will aim for 100% customer satisfaction in 2012.”
The award comes in what is already a year of celebration for Glamis Castle as the five star attraction marks the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee throughout 2012. Individual and group visitors will be invited to enjoy a unique exhibition that has been created to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The Diamond Jubilee Exhibition has created a unique collection of Royal artefacts connected to the castle. The castle’s role in the lives of the present Royal family is captured with mementoes photographs of HM the Queen holidaying at Glamis as well as the centrepiece of the exhibition – six dresses, which have been graciously loaned by HM The Queen until the end of October. The dresses reflect the diamond theme as well as fashion changes throughout the six decades of Her Majesty’s reign. Additional events have been planned for this Jubilee year, including a special celebration on June 4 and 5 and family fun day events on August 6 and 27.
This year also sees the return of The Prom at Glamis and an outdoor performance of Macbeth, set against the magnificent backdrop of Glamis Castle. Further information and details can be found on the Glamis Castle website. www.glamis-castle.co.uk 01307 840393
