Guild Homes (Tayside) Ltd has donated £10,000 to the ‘FriockHub’ project to develop the old Eastgate School in Friockheim into a community hub.
Mark Guild, Guild Homes managing director, said: “Guild Homes recently commenced its Friockheim development and we are always happy to support the local community.”
FriockHub will convert the old school to include support, facilities, spaces and services to the village and rural hinterland. It will include space to meet socially and formally for leisure and business, an IT suite, fitness suite, indoor sports facilities, outdoor play/activity, community café, small business units, facilities for health screening, hairdressing and chiropody, and opportunities for bank/post office, Citizens Advice, etc. There will be business start-up spaces.
Dougie Pond, project chairman, said: “FriockHub is very pleased to include Guild Homes as a supporter. This donation demonstrates their commitment to the communities where they are building homes, and will help develop services and facilities to support the developing village.”
