A LOCAL optician is planning to mark its second year in the town with a fun-filled day of activities this Saturday.
Specsavers on Castle Street will use the occasion to thank its loyal customer and raise vital funds for a good cause at the same time.
Staff members will kick-start the celebrations by donning cartoon character-themed fancy dress and offering free eye clinics for children, goodie bags, face painting and birthday cake.
There will also be a raffle to win a pair of £125 designer frames and a competition to guess the number of sweeties in the jar - with all the proceeds going to Chimes Playgroup in a bid to help the group fund a new outdoor play park. A £50 gift voucher will also be given to the best young customer in fancy dress, which will be judged at 1 pm on the day.
Blair Michie, director of Specsavers in Forfar, says: “I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to all of our loyal customers over the past two years. We are very grateful for their support and hope they enjoy all the fun packed activities we have planned.
“We hope the celebrations will encourage customers to help us raise money for Chimes and it will be our chance to do our bit to support all of the good work the playgroup does year on year.”
