TWO prominent youth organisations in Forfar have joined together for the first time for their annual Christmas card delivery service.
In the past the 2nd Forfar Boys Brigade and the 6th Forfar Scout Group have run a delivery service which provides much needed financial assistance to their groups. This year they are to pool resources and join together to provide the worthwhile service for the community. It has become more difficult for the groups to get enough helpers to collect, sort and deliver the cards - by pooling resources this should be a much more efficient use of time and energy. The proceeds will be split equally between the two groups and, instead of two separate barrels, local shops will take delivery of one collecting barrel by December 1. Cards will be sorted, Monday to Friday, in the BB Hall in Green Street, starting on Monday, December 6 until Friday, December 17 with the cards delivered on the weekends of December 11/12, and 17/18. The cost remains the same at 15p per card and deliveries will be made in Forfar and the villages of Lunanhead, Kingsmuir and Padanaram. A list of participating shops will be published soon.
