The latest £250 sponsorship cheque donated by the Forfar Roof Truss Company will help purchase a wheelchair ramp for Whitehills Primary School.

In their application, teaching assistant Sheila Ironside explained that the school is looking to purchase a ramp to allow one of their pupils, who is a wheel chair user, access to the school’s main stage.

She said: “As far as it is physically possible we include all our pupils in every school activity.

“However, there is one activity that is impossible for this child to be included in and that is to perform on the main stage when his class are putting on shows, whether at Christmas or assemblies or any other project that may be happening during the school year. Unfortunately, due to cutbacks over the years, there are no funds for us to purchase a ramp and it would be absolutely fantastic if we could provide one for him this year.”

She went on to outline that the cost of a ramp is approximately £600, and the donation would help towards that cost.
