The Asda store in Forfar is seeking nominations for its popular community project which recognises and supports the valuable work carried out by local groups and organisations in the area.

Since the store opened customers have been given a green token which they use to cast their vote at the entrance to the store.

There are three selected groups to choose from, with the group which receives the most tokens receiving a donation of £200.

Macmillan Cancer Support (Angus Branch) was the winner of the ‘Chosen By You….Given By Us’ vote for July/August for which they received a cheque for £200.

Andrea Logan, Asda Forfar’s Community Life Champion, said: “Asda Forfar is always looking for nominations of local not-for-profit organisations to take part in the vote and all groups who are shortlisted for the board receive a donation from the Asda Foundation.

“The winner receives £200 while the two runners up receive £50 each. There is also the added benefit of raising awareness for the group.”

If you are involved or know of a local group which could benefit from this help you can pick up a nomination card in store or click on the Store Locator link at
