THE 50th anniversary celebrations of St. Andrew’s Church in Kirriemuir were well attended.

Contributing to the church service were members of the Southmuir Primary School recorder Group, together with Mr G. Drummond and the Rev. Bob Duncan.

The service was followed by a fellowship tea in the hall, where Miss Jean Nicoll cut the celebration cake made by Mrs Eleanor Duncan.

The flower festival was held in the church, with the windows decorated by members of the Guild, the Fellowship Lunch Club, the Scottish Country Dance Club, the carpet bowls club, the Sunday School, the Kirk Session and Board and Tannadice Church, with teas served in the boardroom.

Saturday evening saw a ceilidh held in the church hall, when 14 dancers from the Nicola Grant School of Dancing entertained, along with Bil Carr, Peter Dick, Bob Wallace, Allan Thomson, Davina Farquharson, Margaret Reid and Eila Webster.

On Sunday, a communion service was held.

Thanks go to all those who contributed to the success of the 50th anniversary celebrations.
