Angus College celebrates for third successive year

Angus College has achieved a new first as the college secured the prestigious Scotland’s Colleges Professional Learning and Enhancement Award for an amazing third year in a row.

The judges were impressed by the College’s professional learning and enhancement project which used innovative action learning to enhance teaching.

Small groups of staff at Angus College undertook various workshop based projects which looked at using a range of techniques to engage students and enhance learning.

The project saw hairdressing lecturers working with Student Services to explore the use of positive psychology whilst construction lecturers worked with social sciences lectures to develop the use of cooperative learning.

So successful was the project that staff at Angus College are continuing these projects and planning further action learning projects.

Steven Taylor, Director of Quality and Human Resources at Angus College, said: “It is fantastic to win an award of this calibre and even more fantastic to win it three years in a row.

“Staff development and continued professional development are critical in improving everything that happens in the College and we are delighted with this on-going national recognition for the excellent work Angus College is doing.”
