Kirriemuir sculptor and engraver Bruce Walker will be busy over the next two weekends at events which display his artistic skills.
On Sunday (November 23) his shop in Cumberland Close, Kirriemuir will open from 1.30 to 5 p.m. for his annual Christmas event.
There will be a selection of new and engraved glass, coloured glassware and stone sculptures on offer with wine and home made cake served.
The following Sunday Bruce will hold a stone sculpture workshop at his premises on the Hillhead Industrial Estate (DD8 4PB) from 12 to 4 p.m.
He will be joined by David Sinclair who is currently employed with Bruce through a bursary scheme run by Historic Scotland.
The workshop is open to anyone interested in learning at first hand the skills of the stone mason.
Bruce will demonstrate his skills as a mason while David will demonstrate stone masonry and dry stane dyking.
Bruce said: “This workshop is open to everyone, including children. They will see how the stone is crafted from quarry to the finished article. Everyone is invited along but they should wear old clothes.”
This is an unique opportunity to work and learn from Bruce, who is recognised as the last granite mason in Scotland. Everyone welcome.
