Adventure seekers sought

Forfar Rotary Club is looking for two teenagers, male and or female, between the ages of 16 and 18.

What for? Applications are invited for a chance to participate in a week long Rotary Youth Leadership Award, which is an all action outward-bound type adventure week.

Any club or youth organisation can select and forward a suitable person they feel would benefit from this type of activity and then bring their new found talents back to strengthen their future walk of life.

The successful candidates will take part in many activities involving others from all walks of life and will benefit from taking part by returning a better more confident individual.

The dates for 2012, at the Abernethy Centre, Nethybridge, are as follows: female camp - June 30 to July 7; male camp - July 7 to 14.

The Rotary club has provided two places for many years and have yet to have anything other than a positive feedback from those who have undergone the adventure in the past.

The cost of the week is paid for in full by Forfar Rotary Club.

Individuals can find out more about RYLA camps by using a link such as where more facts are explained and an example of the programme is given in detail.

Applications can be written via e-mail using the Forfar Rotary website and can be made on some-ones behalf with their permission or by the individual themselves.

An entry in the news section of the website also contains a flyer with info of the RYLA camp.

A selection will be made, this may mean an interview if there are difficult choices to make for the two places and the successful individuals will be notified by the end of March.
