A meeting for carers

Looking after a family member of any age, whether it be an adult or child, who has a long term illness or disability can be a demanding task.

The Angus Carers Forum has been set up specifically for those who do care for a family member or friend.

The Forum is an opportunity to meet with other carers and to hear about services and developments which affect carers.

At the next meeting of the Forum, Jillian Richmond, the team leader with the social work department and Susan Ramsay, the care manger, will lead a discussion on carers assessments.

Many carers will not be aware of what a statutory carers assessment is and what is its purpose.

It is always important to hear carers’ thoughts and views on any topic of relevance to their caring role and so anyone who cares for a family member or friend is invited to come.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 24, at the George Hotel, in Montrose and will start at 10.30 a.m. and will end at 12 noon when a buffet lunch will be served.

Anyone who looks after a family member is welcome to attend and for further information visit www.anguscarers.org.uk
