A 32-year-old man from the Tealing area has made an appearance at Forfar Sheriff Court following an alleged incident which sparked a major police operation in Forfar on Monday evening.
William Humphreys of Dalziel Place, Inveraldie, Tealing, appeared in private before Sheriff Kevin Veal at Forfar on Tuesday (today), on a petition alleging firearms offences.

He made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination.
