A 22-year-old man from the village of Westmuir, by Kirriemuir, appeared before Honorary Sheriff Gair Couston at Forfar Sheriff Court on Friday (today), on a petition alleging attempted murder and possession of a knife.
Brian McKay, of Old School Road, Westmuir, made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination. Bail was granted.

His appearance in court followed an alleged incident in Kirrie Den on Wednesday evening.
