17-YEAR-OLD INJURED IN ACCIDENT OUTSIDE KIRRIEMUIR

A 17-year-old youth was seriously injured in a traffic accident just outside Kirriemuir on Monday evening.
The accident occurred at around 9.15 pm on the A926 Kirriemuir to Westmuir Road about one mile west of Kirriemuir.

The collision involved one vehicle driven by the 17-year-old male and road conditions were not thought to be a contributory factor.

As a result the male sustained a serious head injury and was conveyed by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee for treatment.

The road was closed for a spell to allow for a crash investigation, and diversions were in place.

Tayside Police request anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them on 0300 111 2222 , any police officer or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
