LETHAM VICTORIAN MARKET OFFERS VARIETY OF ENTERTAINMENT

THIS Sunday's Letham Victorian market, which runs from 10 am to 4 pm, looks to be bigger and better than ever with a variety of entertainment throughout the day.

A professional Punch & Judy show will be performing several times and local groups of dancers in a variety of styles will liven up the proceedings.

Dog training demonstrations will also make use of the floored performance area which will be at the centre of the market.

To add to the historical feel of the market village stocks have been constructed and wet sponges will be available to throw at volunteers

As usual all stall holders are required to wear costumes and an incentive this year will be the award of prizes (best man, best woman and best child) for the costumes.

Following the successful opening of the village Hall last year at the same as the market, the hall will again be open for the sale of some local produce and for a variety of children's games and entertainment run by a local group.

The Letham Book Shop, usually open on a Saturday morning (in aid of charity), will be open all day and the very successful tea room held in the Feuars' meeting room will again be run in aid of charity.

On display at the market will be proposals that have been submitted for the use of the area in The Feuars' Hall that was formally the library, which closed earlier this year.

Hopefully there will also be a chance to see proposals for the development of Dempster Park.

Provision for comments about these proposals will be available.

Stalls from near and far will be there, so Letham is the place to be on Sunday, July 4!
