Photo competition

KEEN nature photographers have only a short time left to place their entries for the Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2012 competition.

The annual competition attracts entries from around the world. Amateur and professional photographers can enter images taken in Scotland right up until midnight on November 30.

The categories are: Scottish Wildlife (wildlife portrait, wildlife behaviour); Scottish Landscape (sea and coast, the land, urban greenspace); Scottish botanical; natural abstract and environmental.

Full or part-time students (over 18 years of age) undertaking a photography element in their course can compete for the title of Student Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2012 by entering a portfolio of three images on a single nature theme.

Under-18s can take part in the junior competition to find Junior Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2012 by entering up to five photographs on any Scottish nature subject.

All the competition details are at http://www.scottishnaturephotographyawards.com along with information about the great range of prizes on offer. An exhibition of winning images will go on tour in 2013 and winning and shortlisted images will feature in a Portfolio Yearbook publication.
