BRECHIN business-woman Joan Keith has organised a Hogmanay Party which will be held in the Strathmore Function Hall at Forfar Mart.

The main attraction on the night is Irishman Stephen Smyth with his very popular band. Stephen played many times in the Nova Suite in Brechin for Joan.

He has become a household name both in Ireland and Scotland and they are recognised as an excellent band to dance or simply listen to.

His latest recording “Classic Country” featuring his hit song “I’m the Lucky One”, is getting the recognition it rightly deserves.

Over the last 20 years Stephen has covered every corner of Ireland and the U.K. He has played in all the major venues and can be heard on every radio station.

Stephen started his career playing in a band called Shotgun, which was Philomena Begley’s backing band. He then joined the Indians for a few years and then moved on to Dominic Kirwan and later Declan Nerney. He decided to form his own band seven years ago and has since established himself as one of Ireland’s most entertaining bands as recognised by his latest Sunday World “Best entertainer in the U.K.” award.

Stephen and his band have been featured on shows all over England, Scotland and recently Bermuda. Frieburg Country Music Festival, Switzerland is next on the cards followed by a cruise to Alaska.

Stephen is very highly rated as one of the most versatile singers on the band scene in Ireland and U.K. and is sure to be around for many years to come.

On Hogmanay the evening will be opened by the country singer from Elgin, Ian Greig who also has a new recording called “Look For Me”. It was recorded in Manson Grant’s studio in Wick.

Don’t miss this excellent night of entertainment. The tickets are priced at £24 for two course supper and the music. or £16 for music only. Shortbread and wine will be served at midnight and there will be a licensed bar.

There will be a raffle on the night and all proceeds will be donated to the Strathmore Hospice at Whitehills.

For tickets contact Joan at 077860 86512 or 01356 624430.
