The guide dogs for the Blind Association announced plans for a new flagship guide dog training centre to be built in Forfar. The new centre, part of the charity’s major modernisation programme, would feature the latest in kennel design, indoor and outdoor training facilities for dog training and visitor viewing areas.

A hollywood blockbuster with a Kirriemuir twist in the tale was to get its Scottish premiere in Dundee. ‘Finding Neverland’, a biopic of Kirrie’s most famous son, JM Barrie, featured Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet and Dustin Hoffman.

Modified plans to improve the quality of Forfar town centre were all set to go before Angus infrastructure services committee, including a one-way system.
