Forfar community council put the brakes on their discussions regarding Welton Corner outside Forfar - despite calls for clearer signs warning of a dangerous corner. Members were given a copy of a letter from Ronny McNicol, director of roads at Angus Council, at a previous meeting in which he addressed a number of questions.
A charity abseil by Forfar duo Maureen Black and Mabel Taylor raised a staggering £1,300. The pair, who raised the money on behalf of Alzheimers Scotland, succeeded in their fund-raising efforts by scaling the lofty Dundee University tower block, despite Maureen’s fear of heights.
Councillor Ian Mackintosh reopened a shortcut between the Roods in Kirrie to Fairlie House.
