THE EAST and Old Parish Church is holding a Mistletoe Market this Saturday which will feature a variety of stalls and a number of gift ideas for Christmas.

Church groups and organisations will be manning stalls from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the church hall in Chapel Street with tea, coffee and home-baking in the church itself. If you are hungry, lunch of soup and bridies will be served in the church between 12 noon and 1.30 p.m.

There will be a variety of exciting stalls, innovative ideas for Christmas gifts, lots of toys for the children and watch out for Barbara Ann the minister with the mistletoe - you have to pay to give her a kiss or pay to get out of giving her a kiss!

Among the church groups taking part are the 2nd Forfar Boys’ Brigade Company with a bottle stall, The Friends of the East and Old with a chocolate and wine tombola stall, the walking group are running a pocket money gift stall for children and the Bible Study group are manning a stall for books and cards.

There will be home made cards and wooden items, sweeties and kitchen items, to name but a few. Another attraction is Christmas hampers full of festive food and drink.

Tickets priced £2 are available from church groups or pay at the door.

Everyone is welcome to go along and get in to the Christmas spirit, and pick up a bargain!
