Letter to the editor

Sir,

I would agree that the “cup game gives Loons’ finances a boost,” (Dispatch, January 12), but how much greater that boost would have been without the ridiculous level of policing evident at the Aberdeen game?

In view of the claim at a recent Dunfermline-St Johnstone game that it was the first SPL game without a police presence it seemed a pity that at Station Park at any time during the cup encounter, two-thirds of the police present were standing around with nothing obvious to do.

Yours etc.,

John Crichton,

Forfar.
