LOCAL lad Grant Menmuir has won big at a recent Scottish Skillbuilders Championships.

Nineteen-year-old Grant, a student at Angus College, won a gold medal in advanced joinery at the event.

Grant has been a top student throughout his apprenticeship with local joiner W. F. Barker.
