FOLLOWING the success of Forfar Athletic’s recent Monday night friendly with Aberdeen Reserves, which proved to be popular with the fans and netted a total of £100 for the club, more games with First Division sides are to be arranged.
Already Hearts and Dundee United have agreed to send teams, but no definite dates have been fixed.
TUESDAY proved to be an awkward night for the Patullo Cup.
With six men unavailable, it was not without difficulty that six lady substitutes were found.
The net result, however, was two very good games, with Gavin McKiddie and Alan Garrick chalking up their first wins in this competition.

IN SPITE of all efforts to persuade member anglers to attend the Canmore AGM, a total of 19 actually turned up, which in itself was most encouraging, as only 15 came along to last year’s.
The club is concerned about the lack of trout in the waters leased to them and it was decided to order for delivery next March, 1,000 seven-inch trout and 1,000 eight-inch trout to stock the streams and Reservoir.
GILBERT Forrest, Stuart Brodie and Alan Sturrock attended the Scottish under-18 and under-21 judo championships at Meadowbank Stadium, Edinburgh.
Alan and Gilbert both won bronze medals in their respective categories, Alan in the under 52k and Gilbert in the under 60k.

VALIANT Victoria A kept the Division One pool title race alive.
They pipped bottom dogs Legion A to remain within striking distance of West End Social Club A. The leaders hold a four point lead, but Victoria A have two games in hand. In Division Two, Balmoral pulled two points clear of the pack after defeating Caledonian B.
FORFAR’S badminton gents doubles first team returned to winning ways at Burrelton on Thursday.
An under strength, makeshift Forfar team managed to win 12-6 in Arctic conditions. David Wilson and Ian Orr turned in the best performances of the night, winning five out of six games.
However, special mention must be made to the new youthful pairing of Fraser Auld and Scott Donald. They did exceptionally well to win three from six.
ANGUS Cycling Club saddled up for a trip to Boddin Point on Sunday.
The group set off for Friockheim and then took the road past Douglasmuir and Chapelton. They reached Inverkeilor before taking the coast road to Dysart and Dunninald Castle.
From there Boddin Point was finally reached where the cyclists enjoyed the drum up.
