Celebrating Burns

A large contingent of Webster’s High School senior pupils attended the Burns Supper run by the Glens and Kirriemuir Old Parish Church.

It was held in Memus hall last Saturday evening and the pupils played a full part.

Tom Cumming chaired the event and Ailis Sutherland, Lisa Gray, Erin Hart-Winks and Kendal Kopel all performed. It was a very enjoyable night and a real community occasion.

Then, on Wednesday evening, the school held its very own Burns Supper.

Zoe Lawson and Nula Glen together addressed the haggis, Mr Finnie of the English department proposed the Immortal Memory, head boy and head girl, Ally Turner and Kendal Kopel, delivered their Toast to and Reply from the Lassies, special guest Jim Smith performed Tam O’Shanter memorably, Tom Cumming did an excellent job of chairing the evening and Jamie Stork officially thanked everyone.

After the Burns’ formalities there was an hour of ceilidh dancing.
