Boys’ Brigade and Scouts prepare to deliver

MEMBERS of the 2nd Forfar Boys’ Brigade and the 6th Forfar Scout Group are dusting down their post boxes and looking out their delivery bags for the annual Christmas card delivery service.

Over the years, thousands of cards have been delivered in the Forfar area, raising much needed funds for the organisations.

The boxes will be in the shops from December 1, with the last posting date this year being Thursday, December 13.

The cards are collected and sorted out by a team of volunteers who split them up into districts, ready for delivery.

The cost of posting a card is 20 pence with deliveries being made in Forfar, Lunanhead, Padanaram and Kinsgmuir.

Those using the service are asked to make sure that the full name and full address are included on envelopes to ensure deliveries can be made.

The post boxes will be in the following locations:-Thornton Park Shop, Taranty Road Shop, Dundee Road Co-op, ASDA, Haqs, Richardson Newsagents, Academy Street Co-op, Easterbank Shop, Hampton’s newsagents, R. S. McColl, Watt the Butche, McLaren bakers, Brechin Road Shop, Tesco, Mr Ali’s newsagents in Castle Street, Poundstretcher, Forfar Convenience Store (Glenogil Terrace), Canmore Bowling Club, Forfar Indoor Bowling Centre, Lowson Memorial Church, St Margaret’s Church, the East and Old Church, Branderha, Andrew Smyth Gardens and Springfield.
